Hi there,

this is me, the one behind the camera. I live with my little family and band of pets in Laguna Niguel, CA. Aside from being a photographer, I am first and foremost a “momtog.” What does that mean you ask? I am a mother that is obsessed with taking photos of her kids! My husband has learned to love my annoying need to photograph every moment and lets face it, he will thank me later.

I’m a twenty-something year old whose captivated by 70’s & 80’s music and would love nothing more than to spend every day at the beach watching my little man play with sticks while my husband surfs. If you would have asked me 5 years ago, or even 2 years ago if I would ever become a photographer I would have said “Doubtful.” Never have I owned any camera other than the one built into my iPhone. I was working in the medical field and rarely thought of myself having any artistic abilities.

After having my son, my husband and I decided that I would stay home with him because the cost of daycare is just so insane it just didn’t make sense. After battling some pretty intense Postpartum Depression, I finally was seeing some light at the end of the tunnel after getting help, and decided on a whim I was going to buy an inexpensive camera and start taking photos of my handsome little man. Before I knew it, within a month or two of having my camera I was taking photos of other people and it just spiraled upward out of control! The holidays then came around and people I had never even met before were requesting me to take photos of their families..

Like what? “I’m just an amateur momtog, what is going on?!” My so-called business blew up with out it even being my intention. This thing that is now mine, has given me back this confidence and identity that I lost a long time ago. Even though I love my son, daughter, and my husband, being able to identify myself as something other than a wife and mother makes me feel like a part of society and that I have something to offer to others. Everyone around me has become so supportive - like my own personal cheerleaders. My Mom tribe and wonderful friends continue to pass along my name like I am a celebrity, and for that I am forever grateful.

When it comes to the type of sessions that sets my soul on fire, Maternity has my heart. If you’re wondering what a session with me is like, well, it is full of laughs thats for sure. If there is one thing I have learned battling depression and anxiety for the last several years, is that laughter truly is the best medicine and not to take life so seriously. Most come into the session saying, “We are shy, we don’t know what to do in front of the camera, we are awkward..” and so on. Well, leave it to me to have you feeling like a vogue model by the time I’m done with you. In my opinion, the most successful way to get the rawest, most genuine, gorgeous photos is to get you laughing like you’re 5 again and someone just said fart.

I’ll most likely show up to the session wearing my finest mom attire (yoga pants, or a jumper - hopefully not all at the same time) and there is a very slim chance you will ever see me with make up on because well, to be honest, thats just a lot of work for a mom who chases 2 young kids as her day job. I’m probably one of the most low key photogs you will ever meet. So if you can vibe with that, I can’t wait to meet you!
